Hi!

Welcome to DIY Darling! I'm a twenty-something figuring out how to design my dream life on a dime. Let's take this journey together!

Saturday Shares: A book I finished in two days and a new season of the best feel-good-show.

I’m posting this early Saturday morning with a wonderfully busy day ahead of me. It’s my niece (and goddaughter) Indigo’s first birthday party and I’m going over early to help my sister set up. And then we are going to a rehearsal dinner for a wedding that Berto is in (the wedding is tomorrow!). A full weekend of love - totally ideal in my book.

Let’s get to my Saturday Shares!

Book called Every Summer After

Nothing like starting off the spring/summer months with a beach read and this one was excellent. It follows the life and love story of a boy and a girl who meet one summer at the lake. I finished it in about two days!

QUEER EYE SEASON 7!!! It’s the perfect feel-good show. Berto asked me who my favorite was and I said “Antoni! No, wait - Bobby! Actually it’s Tan. No - Karamo! And of course, Jonathan.” So glad I could clear that up. Anyone else bawl their eyes out each episode? Just me? Cool.

This lip gloss has last me a FULL YEAR. It’s perfectly hydrating without being goop-y and it smells like roses. Have I convinced you?

I discovered this podcast series and have really been sucked into listening. It examines the rise and fall of JK Rowling, beloved author of the Harry Potter series. There are interviews with the author and a look into how the shifts in culture contributed to her journey of success to more recent fall from grace.

Ready for an easy dinner idea, perfect for a busy mid-week meal? Gyros! I buy all the ingredients from Trader Joe’s and assemble in about 8 minutes. Here’s what to use:

  • 3 gyro slices

  • 2 Tbls tzatziki sauce

  • Naan bread

  • Sliced tomato

  • Sliced red onion

Sauté the gyro slices for two minutes each side. Warm up the naan in a toaster. Assemble. Enjoy!
