A Whimsical Bohemian Backyard Baby Shower
My gorgeous friends Katie & Tyler are having a baby. So I decided to throw them a shower (because apparently this is becoming my knee-jerk reaction whenever anyone tells me they are pregnant) I LOVE IT!! I teamed up with two friends, Jenna & Jessica, and we created a backyard wonderland full of whimsy to celebrate the pending arrival of a baby girl.
Katie and Tyler are the most generous friends, full of laughter and love, so we wanted the day to reflect that. We had an open house with kegs, cornhole and a spread of delicious food.
We incorporated wood elements with clear cutlery, white table cloths & pink flowers. We draped seeded eucalyptus on each of the tables to add greenery & dimension. It tied in the indoor + outdoor area together quite nicely as well.

I do recommend small details, like this glass votive, to add to the bohemian vibe. I don't recommend sneaky crumpled white napkins in your photos.
We featured Angel City Brewery and Lagunitas Brewery and served a Salted Carmel Gose & Angel City IPA on tap.

Team up with your amazingly creative friends and not only will you have fun throughout the process, but you'll throw a really fun event. Thank you to Jenna and Jessica for being the best baby shower crew around! I am so excited to meet Katie & Tyler's baby girl!
HOW TO DIY
Balloons: Party City I got 2 dozen white balloons ($1.20 each) to put around the photo booth. The gold 'OH BABY' balloons were $10 per letter. And apparently really popular because I had to call 3 different stores to find all the letters and used a zero for the 'O'. Plan way ahead of time for these, but you can coordinate with your local store to pick up the day of your event.
Flowers: The Original Los Angeles Flower Market We got 4 dozen roses (white and pink), 3 bushels of seeded eucalyptus, blush pink hydrangeas, and a bouquet of tea roses for $48. WHAT A STEAL!!!! The LA Flower Market sells wholesale, so you get a serious discount on flowers. I arranged them myself, and Jessica used them to top the cake.
Decor: Walmart & IKEA Jessica bought plain pine wooden crates for $7 each and then used wood stain to get them to this color. I purchased the votive candle holders at IKEA for $1.38 each.
Photo-booth: We hung up a cream curtain with a tension rod and added 5 strands of our floating roses. Then, I staggered a few white balloons on each side. Make sure your photo-booth is out of direct sunlight for better lighting in photos.
